I’ve worked with pregnant women and new mothers for the past five years, and as a mom of four sons ages 3-11 and a new baby girl, I’ve been passionate about pregnancy, birth, motherhood and family life even longer. Whether it’s a well-timed op-ed on the “trend” toward having larger families for the Christian Science Monitor, a story on hoping for a boy or girl for Fit Pregnancy, or a look at why kids don’t play outside anymore for Good Housekeeping, I especially love writing stories that tell the real truth about the experience of modern motherhood or that help parents improve their connection and day-to-day lives with their families. Here are a few examples of the kinds of stories I’ve written:
Thanks to Angelina Jolie, Having Lots of Kids Is Hip–Christian Science Monitor, October 21, 2008
Get Your Kids To Play Outdoors–Good Housekeeping, July 2008
Have No Fear (Overcoming Birth Anxiety)–Pregnancy Magazine, September 2008
End the Mommy Wars–Family.com, 2007
Gender Letdown–Fit Pregnancy Magazine, August/September 2006
Bloggin’ Mama — BabyTalk Magazine, Coverlined feature, April 2006
Time To Appreciate Motherhood–American Baby Magazine, May 2006
I also write about how to be a happier mom at my blog The Happiest Mom.
