As it turns out, Clara WAS born, on 9:40 AM on Friday the 13th.
I’ve written her birth story here…
and I wrote about her scary seizures 30 hours after birth and the subsequent trip to the NICU.
As you can imagine, it’s been a very busy week around here, and I’m not sure how often I’ll be updating over the next few weeks. You can always check in weekly with my WEtv blog, or follow me on Twitter to get the latest!

I was just reading the whole saga on your WEtv blog. I am so sorry to hear about this! How scary! You and your sweet little girl are in my thoughts and prayers.
wow.. so glad things seem well now. I had an emergency cesarean w/ my 4th. He had seizures and was in NICU for 4 days. I was so scared when he went dark and limp during his seizures. It was crazy when they had him NPO (nothing by mouth). I was pumping too. I’ve never been so tired in whole life.
He had to be on phenobarb for 3 mo. In the end the seizures were self limiting and the neurologist said they were due to his hypoxia and low blood pH at birth. It was a very scary time. We still stare at him if he twitches LOL. He’s been fine - no other seizures and no medicines or long term effects.
Thinking of you all.
