Well, what do you know, it’s National De-Lurking Day.
I’ve never participated before, but lately I’ve been getting visitors from such a variety of places that I’m really curious: Who are you, and what are you doing here?

My name is Sarah. I’m here because I fell madly in love with you on the Road Trip.
You know, not in a gay way. In a totally normal way.
Um, hi. You know who I am. And why I am here.
I’m fairly certain you know me. I’m here for the same reason as everyone else - I enjoy reading you.
Meagan,
I am new to the blogging world and enjoy your writing. I have started my own blog (above) which is basically about the weirdness of trying to go back to work at my age. My son is finishing his college application process and I have a sophomore daughter. For the first time in a long time, I have a little time on my hands and I hope to spend it wisely.
Thanks,
Laura

Sarah–there’s always Salt Lake City.
Cecily–thanks for delurkifying!
Heidi, I definitely know you, but had lost the link to your blog–I’m glad to have it again! Off to read.
Well, hello! (I’m a day late.)
I’m not sure where I stumbled upon you, but you have such a savvy PR mind, and it’s insanely inspirational. Also … FIVE KIDS. Yep, you deserve deep awe and respect.
Officially delurking, a day late. I’m here because your blog makes me laugh. I have three boys (ages 7,5 and 2) and a little girl (6 months). I live in a neighborhood where having more than two children is seen as heroic/crazy/irresponsible. It’s refreshing to read about your kids’ antics and to know that I’m not alone.
I saw a tweet responding to you and that it was related to homebirth. We chose to have an unassisted birth with our babe and so I like reading about homebirth.
I stop by every now and then. I came from your book (Table for
because I was curious. Also because I have four kids and you did at the time as well. It’s kind of an akward place because most of society views me as some sort of baby-adicted freak, but if you visit large family sites they scoff at the idea of four kids as being large. Yet we sitll endure the comments and stares and amazement from everyone. Just looking for support I guess.
Hi. My name is Ann Farnsburg. I’m trying to get to know the mothering blogs online, and I really enjoy reading your articles.. so fun!
I used to read your column in the Lansing State Journal, and I recently popped out my second kid so I have one of those free subscriptions to American Baby. I was reading the article about big families and they quoted you as a “mom of 4 from Chicago” and I hadn’t realized you moved!!!
We left the Lansing area a few months before you guys did! (Hub got a job in NYC and we ended up in NJ with him commuting.)
Did you write about that experience? We’re pretty nomadic and hope to move back to Alaska in a few years. We may or may not have another kid by then–and I’d love to hear your take on moving with kids. I’ve done it with one kid many times and it’s quite the art form!
